ATP & Reports

A check you can see.A record you can use.

ATP (adenosine triphosphate) surface-hygiene testing measures organic residue left on a surface. It helps monitor cleaning and supports your routine checks. It is a cleaning tool, not a form of construction certification.

What a report can include

Report contents are proposed below and confirmed in your service specification.

  1. 1Site or vehicle identifier, service date and scope
  2. 2Areas cleaned, work completed and any exceptions
  3. 3ATP sampling points and readings, where commissioned
  4. 4Agreed acceptance criteria appropriate to the device and method
  5. 5Follow-up cleaning or retesting, where the specification requires it
  6. 6Reviewer, handover and any unresolved actions

Agreed before work starts

Sampling points, frequency, whether ATP is included or priced separately, acceptance criteria, report format and turnaround are all agreed with you in advance. There is no universal "safe" ATP number: criteria depend on the device, method and surface.

What ATP can and can't tell you

ATP supports hygiene monitoring. It does not identify specific pathogens or prove that a surface is sterile. Results are interpreted alongside other cleaning checks using the agreed method.
